Jon Haruguchi was hired as an assistant coach in February of 2015. Haruguchi brings over 17 years of coaching experience to the Big Green program.

Haruguchi comes to the Upper Valley after spending five years as an assistant coach at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, being named associate head coach for the 2014 season. During his time with the Cajuns, the program saw its best five-year run in the past 20 years, culminating in the program’s first 20-win season since 1990.

Before arriving in Lafayette, Haruguchi spent three seasons in the same role at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he was responsible for video exchange, breakdown of film, managing players’ academic progress and running of the annual summer camps, in addition to serving as the recruiting coordinator.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Haruguchi received his bachelor's degree from Colorado State in 1996 and was a member of the men's club volleyball team from 1992-1996. He also was a volunteer assistant with CSU during the spring of 2000. He received his master's degree in Special Education from the University of Hawaii in 2003. He and Wendee Herold wed on July 7, 2014.
