BOSTON, Mass. -- With the top runners resting for Friday's Heps/Ivy Championship, the Dartmouth men's and women's cross country teams both finished 10th at the Mayor's Cup at Boston's Franklin Park on Sunday.
The Big Green men were 10th of 18 teams as sophomore Grant Allen (Sugar Grove, Pa.) was 65th overall and 42nd among team runners in a time of 26:38 on the 8-K course. Next in the field of approximately 200 competitors was freshman Andrew Han (Madison, Wis.), 51st for Dartmouth and 77th overall.
A total of 11 clubs and schools competed on the women's side as freshman Julie Plevin (Potomac, Md.) was 41st among team runners and 71st overall, clocking 20:16 over the 5-K distance.
Next were two more freshmen, Natalie Todd-Zebell (Portland, Ore.) and Kristin Fladseth (Santa Rosa, Calif.), who were 76th and 77th overall.
The Dartmouth women take the starting line at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday at 10:30 am, followed by the men's race at 11:10.
Former Dartmouth runner Jarrod Shoemaker '04 won the men's race. Competing for the Boston Athletic Association, Shoemaker turned in a time of 24:23, five seconds ahead of the runner-up.
