Dartmouth Women's Cross Country Wins Division at Pre-Meet
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Paced by junior Susan Dunklee's (Barton, Vt.) 11th place finish, the Dartmouth women's cross country team won the open race at the NCAA Pre-Meet hosted by Indiana State Saturday.
Racing at Wabash Valley Sports Center, the Big Green earned 67 points, besting second-place Kansas with 107. A total of 13 teams competed in that division, including Harvard who was sixth with 150.
Dunklee finished the 6000 meter course in 21:49, and was followed by sophomore Caitlin Cunningham (Simsbury, Conn.), 24th in 22:09.
The Big Green's other scorers were all freshmen. Ali Smrcina (Falmouth, Mass.) was 43rd in 22:22; Kat Eidmann (Winchester, Mass.) was 57th in 22:30; and Blair Sullivan (Chester, N.J.) took 69th in 22:37.
Dartmouth returns to action on Sunday, October 22, competing at the Mayor's Cup in Boston.
