Princeton Wins Heps, Dartmouth comes in 6th
The young Big Green women's team, running without a single senior, moved up a notch to sixth place with 153 points.
Princeton (42) also won the women's title, and the Lions (64) were the runners-up just four points ahead of Cornell.
Junior Susan Dunklee (Barton, Vt.) was the Big Green's top finisher, taking 14th in 17:57.9.
Rounding out Dartmouth's top five were sophomore Caitlin Cunningham (Simsbury, Conn.), 26th in 18:20.9; freshman Blair Sullivan (Chester, N.J.), 34th in 18:28.2; freshman Ali Smrcina (Falmouth, Mass.), 41st in 18:39.4; and freshman Laura Tabor (Portsmouth, N.H.), 51st in 18:51.7.
Head coach Maribel Souther was upbeat after the race. "We finished sixth. That's one spot better than last year and that's an improvement. Everyone will be back last year -- they ran PRs and they felt great. It's only going to get better," she added.
The Big Green returns to Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday, November 11 to compete in the NCAA District 1 qualifier.
