The Big Green jumped out to a 4-1 lead at halftime and then held the Quakers at bay in the second half.

But Dartmouth answered on an

The victory pushed Dartmouth to 7-4 overall and 3-2 in the Ivy League as the Big Green stays in the hunt for an NCAA bid.
"I am so impressed," said Dartmouth head coach
Amy Patton. "This is the first game all year when we've really executed our game plan. We executed from beginning to end. When the attack had to step up, they stepped up. When the defense had to step up, they shut them down.
"Our turnovers were low today and we had some good looks at goal. I felt like we just played smarter," added Patton.
The Big Green had 14 turnovers to Penn's 19, and held the edge in ground balls, 30-27.
Also scoring for Dartmouth were sophomore
Kristen Barry (Duxbury, Mass.), senior
Kristen Zimmer (Alexandria, Va.) and junior
Sarah Szefi (Pittsburgh, Pa.), all with one goal apiece.
In the nets, senior
Devon Wills (Denver, Colo.) made six saves, including two point-blank stops, while Penn's Karrie Moore and Sarah Waxman combined for seven. Moore took the loss.
The Big Green has a big week coming up with two Ivy League road games four days apart. On Wednesday, April 19, Dartmouth is at Harvard for a 6 p.m. game, before heading to Ivy leader Princeton on Saturday, April 22 for a 3 p.m. contest.
