Hanover, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team defeated Binghamton, 6-1 this afternoon. The squad started out strong by sweeping the doubles point from the Bearcats. After being down 7-5, Dartmouth's No. 32 ranked doubles team of David Waslen and Daniel Freeman stormed back to win 8-6 at No. 1 doubles. Dartmouth secured the doubles with earlier victories at No. 2 and No. 3.
The singles matches were equally competitive with Ari Gayer being the only Dartmouth player to win easily, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Waslen won his match at No. 1 in straight sets as did Justin Tzou at No. 4. At No. 2 singles, Freeman gave a little suspense to the action, winning the first set, 6-3, before losing the second set, 2-6, after turning an ankle. He stormed back to take the third set, 6-2 to put the Big Green up 4-2 in the match.
