HANOVER, N.H. - In what is turning out to be a photo finish in the ECACHL race, the Dartmouth men's hockey team will head to Quinnipiac and Princeton for a weekend matchup. The Big Green, coming off a sweep of Rensselaer and Union, is currently in a tie with Cornell for fourth place in the leauge, just six points out of league-leading St. Lawrence and five points from second-place Quinnipiac.Dartmouth will take on the Bobcats in just the fifth game at Quinnipiac's new rink, the TD Banknorth Sports Center. The Big Green tied both teams 3-3 earlier this season.
SCOUTING QUINNIPIAC
Quinnipiac currently stands in second place in the ECACHL with 22 points and a 9-4-4 league record, 14-9-5 overall. Quinnipaic comes into Friday's game with a win over Bentley under its belt along with a tie with Harvard, victory over Yale and loss to Brown last week. Ben Nelson and Reid Cashman each picked up five points last week. On Tuesday the Bobcats faced Bentley. Brandon Wong leads his team in scoring with 30 points and 17 goals while Jamie Bates has 25 points and Bryan Leitch has 23. Cashman is the team leader with 21 assists. Bud Fisher has played 27 games in net for Quinnipiac. He has a 13-9-5 record with a 2.67 GAA and a .900 save percentage.
VS. QUINNIPIAC
This will be just the fourth meeting between Dartmouth and Quinnipiac with the Bobcats winning two out of the three played so far. On Nov. 25 Nick Johnson scored with seven minutes left in regulation to help the Big Green to a 3-3 tie. After going up by one Quinnipiac rallied to score the next two goals of the game. Dartmouth evened it at 2-2 at 8:17 of the second off a goal by Tanner Glass. The Bobcats held a 3-2 lead late in the third period after a marker from Greg Holt just 4:16 into the final frame. However, the Big Green tied the game with exactly seven minutes to play on Johnson's goal. Neither team could muster a goal in the remaining 12 minutes of action. In the nets, Bud Fisher had 26 saves, including 11 in the opening period, while Mike Devine recorded 21.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Going into the Friday matchup at Harvard, Princeton sits in eighth place in the league standings with a 6-8-2 record. The Tigers were winless in three games last week. Lee Jubinville led his team in scoring with points in all three contests. Jubinville leads Princeton with 21 points and 13 assists this season. Darroll Powe is tops with 10 goals and is second with 18 points. Grant Goeckner-Zoeller and Max Cousins have each notched 10 assists. In goal Zane Kalemba has played the most minutes for the Tigers. The freshman has a .903 save percentage and a 2.45 GAA with a 7-7-1 record on the season. Both B.J. Sklapsky and Thomas Sychterz have seen time in the nets.
VS. PRINCETON
In a series that has as many ties as wins over the last 21 meetings the Big Green and the Tigers meet after tying 3-3 earlier this season. On Nov. 24 Dartmouth gave up a two-goal lead in the second period to the visiting Tigers enroute to a 3-3 tie. The Big Green jumped on the board with two goals in the first period. Princeton got one back early in the second stanza when Darroll Powe connected with Lee Jubinville. Jon Grecu's goal at 5:04 was the junior's third goal of the season and Dartmouth's final of the game. The Tigers put the final tally on the board at 9:16 in the third period when Max Cousins from Brett Wilson and Grant Goeckner-Zoeller allowed Princeton to tie the contest at 3-3. Both teams had several chances in overtime. Princeton had what was seemingly the game winner but the goal was waved off as the net had come off its moorings. Both teams were unable to score a power play goal as the Tigers went 0-6 and Dartmouth was 0-2. Princeton finished with 28 shots to Dartmouth's 19.
JUGGERNAUT
The ECAC Hockey League standings are extremely tight as teams are wrapping up the final league games of the season. Five points seperates the teams ranked fourth through 12th as the Big Green finds itself in a tie with Cornell for fourth, six points out of first and five points ahead of 12th. Dartmouth is on the road the next two weekends before wrapping up at home with Cornell and Colgate.
HE NEEDS YOUR VOTE
Senior Tanner Glass has been selected as a finalist for the NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge. Fans have until Feb. 12 to vote online for their favorite player to participate in the challenge. Last season Mike Ouellette was Dartmouth's representative in the first-ever competition.
WALTER BROWN AWARD
Senior defenseman Ben Lovejoy has been selected as one of the 15 finalists for the Walter Brown award which is given to the best American-born college hockey player in New England. Lovejoy is one of four players from the ECACHL on the ballot. The Gridiron Club plans to announce the winner in March.
IN THE NICK OF TIME
Junior Nick Johnson had his sixth multiple-point game against Rensselaer on Feb. 2. Johnson's two goals were his first since a Jan. 20 game against Sacred Heart and just his second and third since Nov. 25.
FIRST SWEEP
The Big Green earned its first home league weekend sweep of the season by defeating ECACHL foes, Rensselaer and Union on Feb. 2 and 3. It was Dartmouth's second victory over RPI this year.
DARTMOUTH VS. RANKED TEAMS
The Big Green is 3-4-2 against ranked teams this season. Dartmouth defeated then No. 11/12 Harvard, 5-2 on Nov. 27 and No. 19 Vermont on Nov. 29, 3-2 before losing to No. 13 Clarkson, 6-3, on Nov. 4. The Big Green rebounded with a 3-2 win over No. 11 Cornell. Dartmouth tied No. 20 Quinnipiac on Nov. 25 and fell to No. 9 Boston University on Dec. 30. No. 3 UNH won the meeting with the Big Green on Jan. 13, 4-2. On Jan. 26 and 27 Dartmouth faced two ranked opponents in Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Dartmouth tied No. 10 Clarkson, 4-4 before falling to No. 17 St. Lawrence, 4-1.
MULTIPLE TIMES
Junior J.T. Wyman has had three multiple-point games through the last four contests. Wyman has notched nine points during the last 10 games.
SCORING STREAKS
Three Big Green players are currently on scoring streaks. Kevin Swallow has the longest streak going with five points in four games while David Jones and J.T. Wyman have each scored in Dartmouth's last two games with Wyman notching four and Jones scoring two. Defenseman Grant Lewis had a four point streak snapped against Union.
JONESING FOR SOME POINTS
David Jones leads the Big Green in scoring with 29 points. He finished last season second on the team in scoring with 34 points. Jones is currently ranked third in the ECACHL in points and assists per game and is fourth in goals. He has notched a point in 19 of Dartmouth's 23 games, scoring multiple times in seven of those contests.
CLASSY
The Big Green juniors account for 63 percent of the scoring this season. The six have scored 31 goals along with 71 points, led by David Jones with 29.
FABULOUS FRESHMAN
Rookie T.J. Galiardi has scored some big goals so far in his short career. The Calgary native is second on the team with eight goals while also racking up 10 helpers.
POWER PLAYERS
Ben Lovejoy is leading Dartmouth in power play strikes with five while T.J. Galiardi and David Jones each have four.
AW SHOOT
In 2005-06 Dartmouth was outshot nine times, going 3-5-1 in those games. This season the Big Green has been outshot 14 times and is 7-5-2 in those contests. The most recent team to record more shots was Rensselaer on Feb. 2 (33 to 29).
SHOOTING HIGH
Dartmouth outshot its opponents 1,152 to 907 last year. This season the Big Green has 663 shots on goal to its opponent's 687.
JUST SHOOT
Dartmouth recorded a season-high 45 shots on goal Jan. 13 against New Hampshire. The Big Green racked up 17 shots in the first period. Dartmouth had its second 40-shot game on Jan. 19 against Canisius with 44. The Big Green recorded its most shots in a period with 20 in the first stanza of play.
MORE JUST SHOOT
Dartmouth outshot both Union and Rensselaer Jan. 5 and 6 and that's the first time that has happened this season. The Big Green is 4-4-1 when outshooting its opponent.
MORE SHOOTING
In 2005-06 the Big Green did not allow an opponent to have more than 40 shots on goal. This season Colgate has been the only team to manage that.
KEEPING THE POWER
The Big Green held its opponents to 9-for-52 on power play chances during the month of January.

Of Dartmouth's 22 power play goals this year, 14 have been scored midway-to-late in the game. The Big Green has notched six extra-man goals in the second period and eight in the third.

A LITTLE SHORT-HANDED
When Kevin Swallow scored his second goal of the season against Harvard on Dec. 16, the sophomore also recorded Dartmouth's first shorthanded goal of the season. David Jones added to the tally, potting a shortie of his own against North Dakota on Dec. 29. J.T. Wyman had a shorthanded goal on Jan. 19 against Canisius.
CENTURY CLUB
Seniors Dan Shribman, Tanner Glass, Grant Lewis and Mike Harwick have all joined the 100-games played club. Shribman eclipsed the mark against Yale (11/17), Glass against Brown (11/18), Hartwick against Harvard (12/16) and Lewis against Boston University (12/30).
ALL HIS TIME IN NET
Junior goalie Mike Devine had started every game this season until Jan. 19 when freshman netminder Joe Grossman was given the nod, breaking one of the nation's longest starting streaks by a netminder. Devine had started every game since Dec. 16, 2005, 38 in all.
HERE'S A FIRST
Two Big Green rookies recorded collegiate firsts in the win over Harvard on Nov. 27. T.J. Galiardi had his first goal while Peter Boldt racked up his first assist. Joe Gaudet recorded his first with a goal against Canisius on Jan. 19. Josh Gillam got into the act with his first strike against Clarkson on Jan. 26, he followed it up with a goal the next night. Gaudet earned his first assist on Jan. 26 against Clarkson.
WORKING OVERTIME
Dartmouth's 2-1 loss to St. Lawrence was its first overtime contest of the season. Dartmouth is 0-1-3 in overtime games for 2006-07 after tying Princeton and Quinnipiac on Nov. 24 and 25 and Clarkson on Jan. 27.
CALGARY CONNECTION
The Big Green has four players from Calgary and six total from the province of Alberta. Juniors David Jones, Nick Johnson and Jon Grecu, along with freshman T.J. Galiardi, all hail from Calgary. Those four players have combined for 75 points this season. The Dartmouth players from that Canadian province have scored 94 points.
MISSING IN ACTION
Freshman defenseman Peter Boldt suffered an ankle injury against Yale on Nov. 17 but is back practicing with the team and is expected to return shortly. Senior Dan Shribman was injured on Jan. 16 against Holy Cross and has missed six games but is expected to play this weekend.
NO LONGER ON TEAM
Sophomore Ryan Bellows is no longer on the team. Bellows left school for personal reasons.
IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY, OR LATE
This season the earliest goal Dartmouth has scored in a game is 57 seconds into the first period (1/6/07 vs Rensselaer). The latest the Big Green has scored (excluding empty-net goals) is 19:44 (1/16/07 vs. Holy Crosss) of the third frame. Dartmouth recorded back-to-back goals on Jan. 20 just :13 seconds apart. The Big Green scored at :21 seconds of the second period and then again at :34 seconds.
JUST NUMBERS
Kevin Swallow scored the first goal of the 2006-07 season at 4:49 in the first period on Oct. 21 against Prince Edward Island. David Jones potted the first goal in the first regular season game, scoring at 8:47 in the first period on Oct. 27 against Harvard.
FACE TIME
Dartmouth lost two key faceoff men with the graduation of Mike Ouellette and Eric Przepiorka. This season faceoffs have been taken by several players. Connor Shields has spent the most time in the faceoff circle. The sophomore has won 178 of his 292 faceoffs taken. David Jones has the second-most on the team as he has won 150 of 246 faceoffs. Tanner Glass (37-76), T.J. Galiardi (132-256), Rob Pritchard (134-255), J.T. Wyman (66-128), Nick Johnson (92-180) and Josh Gillam (17-32) have all taken faceoffs as well.
BIG FACE OFF GUY
Against Quinnipiac (11/25) David Jones took the most faceoffs of the game, winning 18 of 26. J.T. Wyman against Rensselaer (1/6) also took 18 faceoffs, winning 18 of 31.
CAREER HIGHS
Tanner Glass tied his career-high with three assists against Harvard on Oct. 27. Mike Devine stopped a career-high 37 shots against Colgate on Nov. 10. Grant Lewis also tied a career-high with three assists against Rensselaer on Jan. 6. Rob Pritchard eclipsed his career-high on Jan. 19 with four points and three assists.

Dartmouth has three players on its roster from New Hampshire, seniors Ben Lovejoy and Mike Hartwick along with freshman Joe Gaudet. Lovejoy is from Orford and Deerfield Academy,Hartwick is from Bedford and Bishop Guertin with Gaudet from Hanover High.

Every player but one has now seen time for the Big Green. Joe Grossman received his ice time against Canisius on Jan. 19. Sophomore netminder Dan Goulding is the only player to have not yet played.
WEEKLY AWARDS
Mike Devine was named Co-Goalie of the Week for Jan. 22. Rookie T.J. Galiardi registered his first weekly award after being named the ECACHL Rookie of the Week for Nov. 27. Devine earned his second Goalie of the Week award on Nov. 13 after recording 72 saves against Colgate and Cornell on Nov. 10 and 11. Tanner Glass and Devine both earned ECACHL weekly awards for Oct. 30. Glass was chosen Player of the Week while Devine earned Goalie of the Week.
A LITTLE PRESEASON ACTION
Dartmouth won two preseason games to start the year, scoring 15 goals while giving up just five. The Big Green defeated Prince Edward, 8-1, before downing Trois-Rivieres, 7-4.
DEVINE REWARDS
Mike Devine earned sweet redemption against Harvard on Oct. 27. The junior netminder was in goal last season when the Crimson defeated the Big Green, 10-1. Devine exacted revenge, stopping 30 of Harvard's shots in the 5-2 victory to earn his first win of 2006-07.

IT HAPPENS AT HOME
Dartmouth won its season opener at home on Oct. 27, a 5-2 victory over Harvard. It's the first time the Big Green has begun its season at home since the 2004-05 season. Dartmouth is 67-30-3 in home openers. Under the tutelage of Bob Gaudet, the Big Green has gone 6-4 in the first game of the year.
STARTING RIGHT
Dartmouth started 2006-07 off with a 2-0 start, the first since going 2-0 in 2003-04.
SWEEP
On Nov. 3 and 4 the Big Green was swept by St. Lawrence and Clarkson, marking the first time since Nov. 17-18, 2000 that Dartmouth lost back-to-back games at home.
SWEEP REVISTED
Dartmouth swept Colgate and Cornell on Nov. 10 and 11. It was the Big Green's first-ever sweep on the road of the Raiders and the Big Red.
SNAPPED
The Big Green's loss to St. Lawrence on Nov. 3 snapped a 10-game unbeaten streak that dated back to Jan. 21, 2006.
DEVINE AND CONQUER
Mike Devine stopped 72 of 77 shots on Nov. 10 and 11. The 37 saves against Colgate on Nov. 10 were a career-high.
BALANCING ACT
Balanced scoring – 13 players collected at least one point – helped Dartmouth to wins over Colgate and Cornell.
WHATEVER WORKS
Tanner Glass scored an empty net goal at 17:38 of the third period on Nov. 11 at Cornell. The empty netter proved to be the gamewinner and was the first empty net gamewinner of Glass' career.
KUDOS
Dartmouth, which swept Yale last March in the second round of the ECACHL playoffs, had won five straight in the series and 12 of the last 13 before losing to the Bulldogs on Nov. 17.
DEVINE INTERVENTION
Mike Devine earned his fourth career shutout with a 4-0 victory over Holy Cross on Jan. 16. Devine has had two shutouts this season, including a 1-0 victory over Brown on Nov. 18. In the two shutouts Devine made 61 saves.
THE SCORING GOALIE
Mike Devine was credited with an assist on Jan. 20 against Sacred Heart. Last season Devine notched two assists. It was the first time a goalie has scored a point for the Big Green since Nick Boucher in 2002-03.
SOPHOMORE SENSATION
Rob Pritchard had three goals and three assists in three wins Jan. 16-20. Pritchard potted a goal in each contest. He had four points on Jan. 19, notching a goal and three assists. The four points and three assists were career-highs for the sophomore.

Sophomore Kevin Swallow recorded his first multiple-point game of 2006-07 with two points in a 4-0 win over Holy Cross on Jan. 16.
SOPHOMORE SENSATION II
Connor Shields had four points last week. He had his second multiple-point game on Jan. 19 against Canisius with a goal and an assist. Shields is third on the team with 10 assists.
WHAT A LINE
Head coach Bob Gaudet paired Rob Pritchard, Connor Shields and Jon Grecu together for two games on Jan. 19 and 20. The three players combined for 12 points in two wins. Against Canisus on Jan. 19 the three had nine points while on Jan. 20 they combined for the game winning goal in the third period.
ANOTHER FIRST
Freshmen Josh Gillam and Joe Gaudet notched career firsts against Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Gillam had his first goal of the season on Friday, Jan. 26 against Clarkson while Gaudet had his first assist on the goal.
SWEPT AWAY
Dartmouth lost to St. Lawrence on Jan. 27 marking a season sweep for the Saints, the first since the 2001-02 season.

SO LONG, FAREWELL
Dartmouth lost five players from last year's squad to graduation. A key loss to the Big Green was All-America Mike Ouellette. Ouellette was Dartmouth's leading scorer last season with 37 points.
PRESEASON HONORS
Dartmouth's Grant Lewis and David Jones were both given Preseason All-League honors. Lewis was also given national preseason recognition when InsideCollegeHockey.com named him as a Preseason All-America.

Freshman forward Joe Gaudet is the oldest son of head coach Bob Gaudet.
VICTORIOUS
This is head coach Bob Gaudet's 10th season with the Big Green. In 2004-05 Gaudet reached a career milestone, garnering his 100th Dartmouth and his 200th overall win. Gaudet's first win at Dartmouth came in his first game, a 7-1 victory over Army Oct. 31, 1997.
STRAIGHT UP
The 2005-06 season marked the fifth straight that Dartmouth played more than 30 games with 33. The former record of 34 games in one season was broken in 2004-05 when the Big Green had 35 games.
CAPTAIN, MY CAPTAIN
Senior forward Tanner Glass has been selected as the 2006-07 Big Green captain. Joining Glass as the assistant captain is junior David Jones. Glass is the 115th captain in Dartmouth men's hockey history.

TELEVISION SCHEDULE
Dartmouth will make a minimum of seven appearances on television this season. The Big Green will be on CN8, CSTV, WMUR Channel 9 (local New Hampshire ABC affiliate), ESPNU and Time Warner Cable.

COMMISSIONERS' CUP SERIES
Dartmouth's win over Sacred Heart on Jan. 20 gave the ECAC Hockey League its third straight Commissioners's Cup. Commissioners from the nation's six Division I ice hockey conferences decided on a 33-game series to be played among the conferences throughout the 2006-07 season. Twice the Commisioners Cup has come down to the game that Dartmouth participated in with the Big Green getting the win needed for the title.

The Dartmouth men's hockey team currently has five drafted players on its roster. Senior forward Tanner Glass (Florida Panthers), senior defenseman Grant Lewis (Atlanta Thrashers) and junior forwards J.T. Wyman (Montreal Canadiens), Nick Johnson (Pittsburgh Penguins) and David Jones (Colorado Avalanche). Lewis will be the highest recruited player in the ECAC Hockey Leauge for 2006-07. He was a second round pick in the 2004 Entry Draft.
HIGHEST DRAFT PICK
Senior defenseman Grant Lewis is currently the highest drafted player in the ECAC Hockey League. Lewis was selected in the second round in 2004 by the Atlanta Thrashers.
CENTRAL SCOUTING RANKINGS

St. Louis Blues forward and former Big Green, Lee Stempniak picked up two assists on Tuesday, Jan. 24 in the NHL's YoungStars game. Stempniak was the only Blues player to play in the YoungStars game. In his second NHL season, Stempniak is tied for fourth on the team with 29 points (15g, 14a). He set a career-high seven game point streak from Dec. 26-Jan. 9, registering eight points (three goals, five assists) over the span. Stempniak also played in his 100th career NHL game on Jan. 10 at New Jersey.
NEW HAMPSHIRE HOCKEY HALL OF FAME
On April 1, the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey will recognize Dartmouth's proud tradition in addition to inducting nine individuals into its Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place at C.R. Sparks' Event Center in Beford, N.H. Later that afternoon, the Manchester Monarchs will wear custom jerseys honoring Dartmouth in their matchup against Hartford with the jerseys to be auctioned off immediately after the game.
