HANOVER, N.H. - Dartmouth men's soccer freshman
Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) has been named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for the third time this season.
Mkosana snapped a three-game scoreless streak when he tallied two goals including his fourth game-winner of the season to lead the Green past Columbia, 3-1. It was yet another impressive performance by Mkosana in a critical game for the Big Green to move to 2-1-1 in Ivy play, remaining in the Ivy title hunt and NCAA Tournament picture.
With Dartmouth holding to a 1-0 lead entering the second half, Mkosana struck twice in the first 11 minutes of the second half to put the game out of reach for Columbia. His first goal, a rocket from 20 yards out in the 47th minute, proved the game-winner as Columbia would score late in the game. The brace came in the 56th minute after receiving a feed from
Craig Henderson during a breakaway down the left side.
Mkosana leads Dartmouth in goals and scoring this season with seven and 15, respectively. He has scored four game-winners in his first season of college soccer.
