HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth men's tennis team will be hosting the Wilson/ITA East Championships starting today with singles qualifying at the Boss Tennis Center and will run through the weekend.
Dartmouth has multiple players in the qualifying round today. Sophomore
Chris Ho (Los Altos, Calif.), freshman Alexander Centenari (Towson, Md.), sophomore
Michael Laser (Glencoe, Ill.) will all be looking to make the main draw, which begins on Friday.
In the main singles draw, which is comprised of 128 competitors, has three Big Green players. Senior
Dan Freeman (Chatsworth, Calif.) received an opening round bye, while classmate
Jeff Friedman will play fellow Ivy Leaguer Ekin Sezgen of Columbia. Junior
Curtis Roby (New York, N.Y.) also made the main singles draw and is set to face Mikhail Sudakov of St. Bonaventure in the opening round.
In doubles action, Freeman and Laser will team up and face Nathaniel Gary and Mihai Nichifor in the first round, while freshman Michael Jacobs (Oak Park, Ill.) and sophomore
Andrew Malizia (Chapel Hill, N.C.) host Dom Hermy and Sven Sjords of Fairleigh-Dickinson. The final pair for Dartmouth is freshmen
Kevin Cox (Anaheim, Calif.) and
Alex De Chatellus (Tiburon, Calif.) and they will play Adam Gart and Chris Ujick of Sacred Heart.
