Colorado Springs, Colo. - Dartmouth men's soccer alum Scott Blackmun '79 has been named the Chief Executive Officer of the United States Olympic Committee.
It marks a return to the USOC for Blackman, who previously served as General Counsel and Senior Managing Director. He also served as acting CEO for 11 months in 2001.
Blackmun graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth with a degree in philosophy in 1979. A goalkeeper, Blackmun played in 19 career games with a career goals against average of just 1.02 and 90 saves. His most successful season came as a sophomore in 1976, posting a 1.06 GAA in 11 starts.
"I am thrilled to be returning to the USOC and to be a part of an organization and Movement I am so passionate about," Blackmun said. "I am ready to make a long-term commitment to the success of this organization and America's athletes, and to supporting the growth of the Olympic Movement worldwide."
