BOSTON, MASS. — The Dartmouth women's cross country team rested its top runners on Sunday, but the rest of the squad ran at the Mayor's Cup and finished in eighth place (323 points) in a field comprised of mostly sponsored club teams. New Balance Boston took the top spot with 28 points. The Boston Athletic Association finished second (55 points) and the New York Athletic Club ended in third (91 points).
Melanie Wilcox (Dallas, Texas) had the best time for the Big Green. The sophomore finished in 50th place with a time of 19:12. The next finisher for Dartmouth was junior Christina Supino (Windham, N.H.). She crossed the finish line at 19:25.
A majority of the team was resting in preparation for the Ivy Heptagonal Championship on Friday, October 29, in New York, N.Y.
