at Head of the Charles

Following four years with the Dartmouth men's lightweight rowing team, Brian Conley has been named the Steven J. '69 and Karen A. Lee Head Rowing Coach at Lehigh University.
At Dartmouth, Conley assisted with all aspects of the lightweight program including serving as recruiting coordinator and head coach of the freshman crew. He assisted with the varsity boats including the varsity eight that won the 2007 Eastern Sprints and Ivy League Championship. In three of his four seasons, his freshman eight boats reached the grand finals at Eastern Sprints.
In his new position at Lehigh, Conley will be responsible for oversight of both the men's and women's rowing programs and will coach the women's varsity boats. The move to Lehigh will bring Conley, a New Jersey native and 2002 graduate of Penn, closer to his roots.
“I am very excited to be a part of such a great institution and community at Lehigh,” said Conley. “When I set foot on campus, I knew this was a place where I wanted to be and a place where I wanted to teach the sport of rowing. Lehigh has the ability to be successful at the highest level of rowing and I am extremely honored to be given this opportunity to lead the Lehigh program in that direction.”
