PRINCETON, N.J.- Dartmouth men's soccer goalkeeper, Noah Cohen (Johannesburg, South Africa) has been named Ivy League men's soccer Player of the Week. The sophomore earns the award for the first time in his career and becomes Dartmouth's second player to earn Ivy League Player of the Week accolades this season, joining teammate Lucky Mkosana (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe) who earned the award in September.
Cohen wins the weekly award for his efforts in Dartmouth's undefeated weekend last week. In a 1-0 win over Colgate (Oct. 25), Cohen picked up his fifth shutout of the season and made four saves to lead Dartmouth to its third consecutive victory.
In Dartmouth's Ivy League contest at Harvard, Cohen battled the elements to make seven saves in Dartmouth's 1-1 double overtime tie, his third overtime contest this season. Cohen's seven saves marked the third time this season he has posted seven or more saves and included two saves in the second overtime.
Cohen, in his first year as Dartmouth's starting goalkeeper, sports a 7-4-3 record and has made 58 saves and owns a 1.09 goals against average. Cohen is tied for second in the Ivy League standings in saves (58) and saves per game (4.14).
The Big Green will take on league leader, Cornell, in a crucial Ivy League matchup on Saturday (Nov. 5). Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. at Burnham Field. Saturday's game also marks Senior Day and Dartmouth will honor the Class of 2012 with a ceremony.
