Dartmouth (7-19, 3-9 Ivy) struggled shooting all game, hitting just 24.1 percent from the field while Princeton (22-4, 11-1 Ivy) used a spread offensive attack to shoot a collective 54.5 percent overall.
Freshman Janelle Ross (Inglewood, Calif.) had a big second half to finish with 17 points.
Princeton was led by Devona Allgood's 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Princeton jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the game fueled by four straight from Allgood and a three from Lauren Edwards at 18:09. Steen responded to lead the Big Green to a 6-2 run to make it a 9-6 deficit at 15:02. Dartmouth's defense was holding tight but the Big Green struggled to get good looks to fall and Princeton was able to build a 15-8 lead after a Laura Johnson three at 12:09.
That triple started a 15-0 run for the Tigers, who build a staggering 24-8 lead after a Krystal Hill layup at 9:23. Steen stopped the bleeding with a runner for the Big Green to make it 24-10 at 8:23 but the momentum would be short-lived. Cooper was sent to the bench with her second foul, a tough offensive call, at 7:50 and Princeton enjoyed the freedom in the paint, going on a 9-6 run to lead 35-16 at 3:45.
Dartmouth's defense was tougher down the stretch but so was the Tigers' and despite turnovers late in the half, the Tigers extended their advantage to 42-16 at halftime of an increasingly physical contest. Princeton shot a sizzling 57.1 percent from the field to Dartmouth's 24.1 percent.
Neither team had much offense going in the early part of the second half, and Princeton held a 47-19 lead with 15:10 to play after a free throw from senior Meghan McFee (Manchester, Conn.). Edwards scored five straight for Princeton after that and though the Big Green had success getting inside, Dartmouth was no real threat to close the gap, down 58-23 after a pair of free throws by Krystal Hill at 11:55.
The teams traded buckets during the next four-minute stretch, resulting in a 67-35 Princeton lead at 7:37, as Dartmouth outscored Princeton, 12-9 with eight of those points coming from Ross. Though the Big Green continued to get the ball inside, the Tigers kept the pressure on and Edwards gave Princeton a 74-39 lead with a three at 4:20. Dartmouth got just three more points in the game including a jumper from Dosenko, while Alex Rogers scored five straight to help Princeton take the 81-42 final.
Dartmouth did hold a slight 34-33 rebounding advantage but committed 21 costly turnovers to 14 by Princeton.
The Big Green has a quick turnaround and a tough test tomorrow when it takes on a rejuvenated Penn Quakers squad on senior night at the Palestra at 7 p.m.
