PORTSMOUTH, R.I. — The Dartmouth men's golf team moved up two spots in the third round to place seventh at the Adams Cup on Tuesday. The Big Green finished the tournament with a team score of 876 and were led by senior Peter Williamson (Hanover, N.H.). Williamson finished tied for fourth at 4-under-par.
Central Florida won the tournament with a team score of 842, Georgia came in second at 851 and Yale placed third at 860. Ricardo Gouveia was the individual winner at 11-under-par with Bryden Macpherson coming in second at 9-under-par.
The Big Green had the second-lowest score in round three with a 284 at the Carnegie Abbey Club. On the par-71 course, Williamson led Dartmouth with a 2-under-par 69, freshman Charles Edler (Fair Haven, N.J.) shot a 1-under-par 70 and freshman Daniel Knight shot a 1-over-par 72. Junior Andrew Jankowski (Elkins, N.H.) shot a 73 and junior James Pleat (Nashua, N.H.) finished with a 74.
Dartmouth next competes at the McDonald Cup hosted by Yale on Sept. 30 through Oct. 2.
