HANOVER, N.H. — Upon completion of the 2014 NCAA Division 1 season, the NCAA released the final NSCAA coaches' rankings and RPI report. The Dartmouth Big Green received 37 points and sit in the final spot in the top 25 rankings. In the RPI category, Dartmouth is 23rd after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in November.
“We are certainly thrilled to be ranked at the end of the season, as it shows we were a team that played at a consistently high level throughout the year,” head coach Chad Riley said. “There are so many quality soccer teams in Division 1 Soccer so to be ranked at the end is an accomplishment.”
This is the fifth time Dartmouth has finished a season in the top 25. The highest was eighth in 1990. Other notable rankings were 16th in 1997 and 2010 and 20th in 2008.
“The team set the bar high in 2014 and now we have to get back to work and continue to try to push further up,” Riley commented.
