Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week - Fisch & Rumley

One is ending his season and the other is just beginning her season but both of this week's athletes of the week are giving their all to the Big Green. Junior James Fisch wrapped up the 2015 squash season with three victories at the Hoehn Cup Championship. Senior Kristen Rumley kicked off the softball season with an impressive 4-2 upset of No. 16/17 Auburn in Florida.

Their efforts are rewarded by being named the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week.

Each week, DartmouthSports.com will spotlight two outstanding student-athletes - one male, one female - as the Northeast Credit Union Athletes of the Week. Student-athletes may be chosen based upon their efforts both on and off the field of competition.

James Fisch, Jr., New York, N.Y., Men's Squash

James Fisch went 3-0 at the Hoehn Cup last weekend at Trinity. The junior helped the Big Green to the championship round against Princeton after defeating Navy and Cornell. Against Navy, Fisch defeated his opponent in four games and then needed five against Cornell before winning in three-straight games against the Tigers.

Kristen Rumley, Sr, Katy, Texas, LHP, Softball

Kristen Rumley picked up one of her biggest victories aside from the Ivy Championship clincher last May with a 4-2 upset over No. 16/17 Auburn on Friday afternoon. The senior pitcher tossed a complete game and allowed two runs on six hits. Rumley pitched another 18 innings over the weekend against South Florida, Marshall and a final contest against Auburn. At the plate, Rumley hit .273 in 11 at bats with three hits including a double and a walk.
