ITHACA, N.Y. – No. 4 seed Dartmouth women's tennis knocked off No. 1 Princeton in a stunning 4-0 shutout in the first semifinal of the ECAC Women's Tennis Championship on Saturday morning. The No. 62 Big Green are now 7-0 on the season, while the No. 54 Tigers have yet to win a match with a 0-5 record.
Senior Akiko Okuda and freshman Julia Schroeder got things started with a 6-3 victory over Joan Cannon and Caroline Joyce at No. 3. At No. 1, sophomore Taylor Ng and freshman Kristina Mathis defeated Lindsay Graff and Katrine Steffensen by a score of 6-3 to secure the doubles point.
Schroeder defeated Sivan Krems, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 6, while junior Katherine Yau had a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Amanda Muliawan at No. 2. It was Ng's 6-4, 6-3 win over Graff at No. 1 that complete the shutout.
Dartmouth will play No. 2 seed Columbia in the final of the tournament at 12 p.m. on Sunday. The Lions are ranked 39th in the country.
