PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth men's tennis team completed the third and final day of the Ivy Plus Tournament on Sunday. The Big Green had three doubles and three singles victories, bringing their weekend total to 25 wins and 12 losses.
“We had a strong finish in the tournament today, winning six out of a possible seven matches,” head coach Chris Drake said. “As a team, we set goals for ever match and tournament that we play during the year, and I think we can leave this event feeling very good collectively and how we responded to these goals.”
Junior Diego Pedraza and freshman Joey Haig walked away with the whole thing, defeating Columbia's Jack Turchetta and Daniel Grunberger in the semifinal, 8-6, before taking down Elio Livi and Andrei Crapcenko of St. John's, 8-7, in the final. Sophomore Ciro Riccardi competed in singles' finals, falling to Thomas Colautti of Princeton in two close sets by scores of 7-5. 6-4.
