vs Dartmouth Invite #1

PRINCETON, N.J. – The No. 34 Dartmouth men's tennis team claimed fifth at the 2016 ECAC Indoor Championship on Sunday with a 4-1 victory over St. John's.
The Big Green are now 7-4 on the season, while the Red Storm fell to 8-3.
"It was a great effort by the entire team today after a late match last night and an early start today," head coach Chris Drake said. "St. John's is a very good team and they came at us hard at the beginning of both doubles and singles. We did a nice job finishing a few matches in straight sets and also coming back after dropping some first sets on other courts. This was a good end to the weekend."
Victories at the No. 1 and 2 doubles positions gave Dartmouth an early lead. At No. 1, senior Dovydas Sakinis and freshman Roko Glasnovic took down Vaidik Munshaw and Lucas Hehjal, 6-4, while junior George Wall and senior Brendan Tannenbaum defeated Daniel Skripnik and Roberto Livi, 7-5, at No. 2.
In singles action, sophomore Ciro Riccardi had a 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-2 victory over Hehjal – who is 92nd in the most recent ITA national rankings – at the No. 2 position, while classmate Max Fliegner won against Livi at No. 3, 7-6(5), 6-4. At the No. 6 position, freshman Eddie Grabill had a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Nunez.
On Friday, Feb. 19, the Big Green will return to the Boss Tennis Center to host No. 23 Minnesota.
