NEW HAVEN, Conn. – After upsetting No. 6 Harvard earlier this season, the seventh-ranked Dartmouth men's squash team could not outlast their Ivy League foe again, as the Big Green fell 6-3 in the consolation round of the College Squash Association Team Championship on Saturday.
The loss drops Dartmouth to 9-6, while the Crimson improve to 6-6.
The Big Green started the day off strong when sophomore Brian Giegerich and senior Kyle Martino swept their opponent in three games. Freshman Samuel Epley won his first game before falling 3-1.
Junior Glen Brickman pulled of a 3-1 victory after establishing a 2-0 lead in the match. Freshman Carson Spahr and junior Nicholas Harrington both jumped out to 2-1 advantages, but could not shutout their opponent, as both fell in closely contested fourth and fifth games.
In the third round of matches, freshman Matthew Giegerich and sophomore Alvin Heumann both lost in straight games. Senior team captain James Fisch lost his first two games however he came back to win the third. In the fourth game, Fisch could not keep his momentum going as he fell 11-4.
