TUESDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team will play its third home game of the 2016 season Tuesday in a non-conference match-up with Boston University. Opening draw from Scully-Fahey Field is set for 3 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green are coming off their first loss of the season this past Saturday at No. 3 Florida. Although the stats looked to be close, the final score ended up 16-6 in favor of the hometown Gators. It marked the fifth straight year in which Dartmouth has tested itself early against a highly ranked Florida team, all five of which have ended in the Gators' favor.
AGAINST THE TERRIERS
A regular on the schedule since 2000, Boston University and Dartmouth have formed a nice non-conference rivalry throughout the years. The Terriers won last year's meeting in Boston, 13-7, snapping a four-game winning streak in the series for the Big Green. Overall, Dartmouth is 13-6 against Boston University with a pair of NCAA First Round wins in 2003 and 2006.
SCOUTING BU
The Terriers come to Hanover with a 1-2 overall record this season with no Patriot League games under their belt thus far. A 13-8 road win at Fairfield is sandwiched between losses to Boston College (18-9) and UMass (11-8) three games into the spring. New Hampshire natives Jenny Thompson (Londonderry) and Mickenzie Larivee (Amherst) are first and fourth on the team in scoring despite neither registering an assist yet. Sophomore goalkeeper Christine Laible has played in all three games, making two starts and boasts a 10.46 goals against average to go with a .421 save percentage and a 1-1 win-loss record.
PHENOMENAL FIRST YEAR
Freshman Elizabeth Mastrio is off to a great start to her collegiate career. Against Florida, she scored once and added one ground ball and a game-high five draw controls. So far this season, the Wilbraham, Massachusetts, native is fourth on the team in scoring with six points (3-3-6), while tied for the lead in caused turnovers with Jaclyn Leto and Danielle Lisovicz as each have four.
SECONDARY SCORING
It was known coming into the season that Leto would get her goals and points, but junior Taryn Deck has stepped into the role as Dartmouth's No. 2 scorer nicely this season. Coming into 2016 with nine goals and four assists (with all but one of those goals coming as a sophomore), Deck already has found the back of the net seven times this year, while assisting on four more to rank second on the team and third in the Ivy League with 11 points.
MOVING ON UP!
With another two draw controls at Florida on Saturday, Leto moved into a tie for seventh all-time at Dartmouth with Kristen Zimmer '06. The New Jersey native and senior co-captain now has 12 draws, the second-best mark this season and is now just six away from 100 in her career, a milestone that only six players in program history have reached in 44 seasons.
EARLY ACTION
Freshman goalkeeper Charlotte Wahle continues to be tested early in her time with the Big Green. The team's starter in all three games, Wahle is second amongst Ivy League goalies this year with 22 saves. That figure is thanks in large part to 10 stops at Florida, reaching double-digits for saves in a game for the first time in her career.
MILESTONE WATCH
Jaclyn Leto
– 131 Points (Needs 6 more to move into top-15 all-time at Dartmouth)
– 94 draw controls (6 more for 100, Currently tied for 7th all-time)
