NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team continued Ivy League play on Sunday afternoon, falling 12-6 to No. 13 Yale at Reese Stadium.Â
Yale got on the board in the first five minutes of the game, but Samantha Bennett quickly evened up the score with her ninth goal of the season. The Bulldogs scored four goals in the second period, while the Big Green chipped at the deficit with goals by Maja Desmond and Catherine Erb.Â
The neck-and-neck play continued after halftime as the team held each other to a single goal through the third period. Entering the fourth period, Yale went on a 5-0 run to extend their lead, then Ryan Hapgood scored a goal in the last 49 seconds of the game to bring the final score to 12-6.Â
The Big Green will be back in action next weekend when they host No. 17 Brown on Saturday at 1 p.m.Â
