HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth senior
Duncan Robinson was selected as this week's Ivy League Pitcher of the Week following his performance against South Florida this past Saturday. This is his second weekly award from the league office with his previous honor coming two years ago. College Sports Madness also selected Robinson as its Ivy League Player of the Week.
A 6-6, 220-pound right-hander from Houston, Texas, Robinson dominated the USF lineup in a
1-0 Big Green victory on March 26. He threw 103 pitches to complete the nine-inning shutout, the last 16 of which produced the final nine outs. The Bulls managed just four hits against Robinson as he did not issue a walk while striking out eight. Seven of his eight strikeouts came in the middle three innings, and at no time did USF have more than one runner on base.
For the season, Robinson is 2-2 with a 4.00 ERA and 29 strikeouts in 27 innings. The 2015 Ivy League Pitcher of the Year has thrown consecutive nine-inning complete-game victories, allowing 11 hits and no walks to go with 20 strikeouts. He is the first Dartmouth pitcher with two nine-inning complete games in a season since Jeff Wilkerson in 2007 and the first to throw them back-to-back since Josh Faiola had four in a row in 2006.
Dartmouth (5-13) next plays its home opener on Wednesday at 3 p.m. when Quinnipiac comes to Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park. The game will be streamed live via
