HANOVER, N.H. – Dartmouth men's soccer head coach Chad Riley has announced the 2016 schedule that will feature the Big Green at home eight times in the regular season, as Dartmouth looks to win its third consecutive Ivy League title.
“We are thrilled to announce our 2016 schedule,” Riley said. “It is a schedule that will certainly test us, our team is really looking forward to the challenge and relishing the chance to compete together.”
This fall the Big Green will compete against four non-conference opponents who made the NCAA College Cup last year. Dartmouth will open the 2016 season on the road with the SEC's Kentucky on Friday, Sept. 2. The Big Green will remain in the Midwest to take on Xavier on Sept. 5 before returning to Hanover on Sept. 8 to face Washington in the 2016 home opener at Burnham Field.
Dartmouth will face Seattle on Sept. 11 after the Redhawks made it to the third round of the College Cup, where Seattle was knocked off by No. 6 Syracuse. The Big Green hit the road on Sept. 17 to face UMass Lowell before hosting Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 21.
On Saturday, Sept. 24, Dartmouth will battle with Twin State rival, Vermont in Burlington at 7 p.m. before the Big Green kickoff Ivy League play on the road at Princeton on October 1. On Oct. 5, Dartmouth will welcome in-state rival New Hampshire for a midweek showdown under the lights at 7 p.m.
The Big Green will host back to back Ancient Eight opponents when Yale comes to Hanover on Oct. 8, before Penn visits the Granite State on Oct. 15.
Dartmouth travels to Boston University on Oct. 18, before continuing their Ivy League slate at Columbia on Oct. 22.
On Saturday, Oct. 29, Dartmouth plays host to Ivy League foe Harvard on Homecoming weekend at 4:30 p.m. The Big Green will wrap up their non-conference schedule at Northeastern on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. and will conclude the season with games at Cornell on Nov. 5 and Brown at home on Nov. 12.
The Ivy League Digital Network will broadcast all home games and all Ivy League road contests. Select non-conference road matches may also be available on the network.
