HANOVER, N.H. — The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) announced its All-New England teams today, and Dartmouth reliever
Patrick Peterson was the lone Big Green representative, earning a spot on the third team.
Peterson, a sophomore from Glen Ellyn, Illinois, is making his first appearance on an All-New England team after being named to the All-Ivy First Team last week for the second time in his career. The Big Green closer recorded a 1.65 ERA to go with a 3-0 record, four saves and 28 strikeouts in 32.2 innings out of the bullpen. Opposing hitters managed a meager .165 average against him and did not score a run off of him over his last 12.2 innings on the mound. After two seasons at Dartmouth, the right-hander is 7-0 with 10 saves and a 2.59 ERA spanning 32 outings and 59.0 frames.
Bryant first baseban Robby Rinn (.380/.451/.601, 5 HR, 57 RBI) was named the NEIBA Player of the Year, while Rhode Island's Tyler Wilson (11-1, 2.22 ERA, 107 K in 89.1 IP) was tabbed the Pitcher of the Year. Jacob Stevens of Boston College (3-3, 2.04 ERA, 67 K in 66.1 IP) garnered Rookie of the Year honors, and Steven Owens of Bryant was chosen as the Coach of the Year for leading the Bulldogs to a 44-10 overall record and 26-4 league mark to win the Northeast Conference regular season.
