HANOVER, N.H. – Over the summer, the Dartmouth men's and women's tennis teams became two of a handful of programs in the country to have PlaySight installed on their courts allowing fans of the Big Green squads the ability to watch live streams of all home matches played indoors or outdoors on the Ivy League Digital Network. Dartmouth is the only Ivy League tennis program that is currently capable of streaming on both courts.
The Big Green will also be taking advantage of a new “smart court” that has been installed on one of the indoor courts. PlaySight's all-in-one smart court tennis technology is the most comprehensive of its kind in the industry. It has on-court shot tracking and tagging, so the players know the type of stroke, speed, spin, and more. Players can get immediate statistical and video feedback on a kiosk that sits directly on the court. The coaches think this will be a great tool to use during individual work with players.
"We're thrilled to be working with Chris, Bob and the entire Dartmouth staff and tennis teams,” PlaySight's Josh Graves said. “The technology will give the Dartmouth tennis programs an edge, namely in player development, recruiting and visibility. They will now be able to live stream all of their matches to anyone in the world, record the videos from all of their practices and matches, and use PlaySight's coaching tools on-court and online to get the most out of every practice and match.”
Friends and family will be able to start watching all home matches this season. The men's team will host the Dartmouth Invitational from Oct. 7-9, while the women will first be home almost a month later for their Big Green Invite. Those interested in purchasing a subscription should visit the ILDN website to sign up.
