THIS WEEK'S GAMES
The Dartmouth men's soccer team will play at home for the first time this season when the Big Green welcome Washington to Burnham Field on Sept. 8 and Seattle on Sept. 11.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
After dropping its first game of the 2016 season, Washington comes into Hanover on a two game winning streak. Most recently, the Huskies took down Oral Roberts 4-2 in the team's home opener last weekend. Of the seven goals Washington has scored this season, senior Mason Robertson has three of them. He also leads his squad with six points through three games.
SCOUTING THE RED HAWKS
After being ranked No. 14 in the NSCAA preseason poll, Seattle has stumbled a bit with two losses in three games. After beating West Virginia, 2-0 to start the season, the Red Hawks dropped a close 1-0 decision to No. 2 Akron before falling to Gonzaga on the road, 4-2. Junior Alex Roldan leads Seattle in points in the young season with four, after netting two of the Red Hawks' four goals scored.
LAST TIME AGAINST WASHINGTON
Dartmouth has faced the Huskies just once. Last season, the Big Green held a 2-0 lead on No. 9 Washington, but fell just short of the upset, falling 3-2. The Green jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Tyler Dowse scored in the fourth minute. Towards the end of the half, Dartmouth's second goal came from Alexander Marsh on a one-timer with 12 seconds to play.
LAST TIME AGAINST SEATTLE
The Big Green and Seattle have met just once on the pitch in program history. Last season, Dartmouth fell 2-1 to the Red Hawks after leading 1-0 late in the contest. In the second stanza, Dowse delivered a cross to the middle of the box from where classmate Yima Asom sent the ball into the top right corner of the net. The Big Green could not hold on however, allowing two goals in the final 17 minutes of the game.
HOMECOMING FOR CLARK
Washington's head coach Jamie Clark is a former resident of Hanover, New Hampshire. A graduate of Hanover High School, Clark is also the son of former Big Green head coach, Bobby Clark.
RISING IN THE RANKINGS
After recording a 1-1 draw with No. 17/10 Kentucky, Dartmouth jumped six spots to No. 16 in the most recent TopDrawerSoccer.com poll. The Big Green were ranked No. 22 in the preseason poll for the first time under head coach Chad Riley and are the only Ivy League representative on the list. This week's ranking by Top Drawer Soccer is also the highest Dartmouth has achieved with Riley on the sidelines.
AYE AYE CAPTAIN
The Big Green are led by captains James Hickok and Emmanuel Arteaga. Also this season, Dartmouth will have three assistant captains, Wyatt Omsberg, Dowse and Matt Danilack.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
With two back-to-back double overtime games, Big Green senior goalkeeper, James Hickok has played 220 minutes through two games. He's made 11 saves with a .846 save percentage and has surrendered just two goals.
