THIS WEEKEND
The Dartmouth volleyball team is back at home, hosting Princeton on Friday and Penn on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green headed out for their first Ivy League road matches last weekend, falling to Columbia (23-25, 25-23, 20-25, 18-25) and Cornell (19-25, 18-25, 13-25).
Mallen Bischoff led the team with a total of 21 points, wrapping up the weekend with 17 kills (2.43/set), a .227 hitting percentage, two aces, nine digs and four total blocks.
Francesca Meldrum also had a good weekend: she was third with 17.5 points and was first with 10 total blocks (1/43/set). Both she and Bischoff were named to the Ivy honor roll.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Princeton enters the weekend with an overall record of 10-4 and, with its 3-0 conference mark, is tied for first with Cornell. The Tigers have defeated some tough opponents in 2018 such as Northwestern, Colgate, Towson and Maryland.
LAST TIME AGAINST PRINCETON
The Big Green went 1-1 against the Tigers last season, falling by a score of 3-1 (26-24, 19-25, 14-25, 18-25) on the road in October before taking them down in five sets (25-19, 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 15-11) in the final match of the season. That was their first win over Princeton since 2015.
SCOUTING THE QUAKERS
Penn has had a tough time this season and will go into its match with Harvard on Friday with a 3-11 overall record and an 0-3 mark in Ivy play. The Quakers' last win was on Sept. 11 against Delaware State, and they are currently on a six-match losing streak.
LAST TIME AGAINST PENN
The Green and the Quakers split in 2017: Penn won the match in October by a score of 3-1 before Dartmouth had a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-23, 16-25, 16-25, 15-11) in the last weekend of the season. This was the first win over Penn since 2006.
