TUESDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth field hockey team heads to Vacationland for a mid-week tilt against Maine and a Tuesday matinee with the Black Bears.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green dropped a double-overtime heartbreaker Saturday against visiting Ivy League rival Penn, 3-2.
SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS
•   Maine is coming off a 4-0 win Sunday at Vermont that improved their overall record to 10-2 and 2-1 in America East contests.
•   A two-game skid to Harvard (4-1) and rival New Hampshire (3-2) in late September are the lone blemishes on the schedule in 2018 that included an 8-0 mark to start the year.
•   The Black Bears have outscored their opponents 51-16 this season, including posting a pair of shutouts.
•   Maine was No. 17 in last week's national coaches poll and figures to move up when this week's poll is announced on Tuesday.
•   Senior Libby Riedl leads the team with 22 points and 10 goals, while Casey Crowley is second on the team in scoring (17) thanks to her squad-leading five assists.
•   Mia Borley has been outstanding in goal this season, posting a 1.24 goals against average and a .688 save percentage in 851 minutes of action.
AGAINST MAINE
•   Dartmouth is trying to defeat Maine for the first time since 2007 when the Big Green opened the season with a 3-2 overtime win on Aug. 31.
•   Since then, it's been a healthy dose of Black Bear victories, including last season's 5-3 win in Hanover.
•   In that game,
Katie Spanos scored twice, while
Carmen Braceras notched the other Dartmouth goal.
Â
OVERTIME… NOT OUR FRIEND… THIS YEAR
•   The Big Green are 0-2 this season in games that have needed extra time following Saturday's game.
•   Dartmouth dropped a 3-2 overtime game to Vermont on Sept. 7 in the season's home opener. The Catamounts needed just 3:31 more to net the winner.
•   The last overtime win came in 2017 when
Taylor Hantman capped a comeback for the Green and White against Columbia. After the Lions took a 2-0 lead, Dartmouth scored the next three goals with the third coming a little more than halfway through the first OT period.
CREEPING UP ON 150... STILL
•   Let's give this another try…
•   Already the program's all-time winningest coach,
Amy Fowler is now just ONE win away from 150 for her career, all at Dartmouth.
•   In her 19th season with the Big Green, Fowler came into the season with 145 career victories, a figure she has added four more to this season to put her just one shy of the milestone marker.
FIRST FOR THE SENIOR
•  Â
Gemma Bautista stretched out to make a diving play to redirect a shot for her first goal of the season in the 54th minute.
•   For the Brisbane, Australia, native, it marked her first goal since scoring twice at Harvard on Oct. 28, 2017. Those two goals gave her eight for the season, good for second on the team last fall.
COLD STREAK SNAPPED
•   After scoring two goals in as many games near the start of the season,
Katie Persin went five without finding the back of the cage again.
•   That streak was snapped Saturday when her goal in the 66th minute tied the game and forced overtime.
•   With three goals this season, Persin has established a new career high after not scoring as a freshman and twice as a sophomore.
