PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After the first day of the Bruno Invitational, the Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team is in sixth place with 83 points. Princeton is leading the way with 314.

The Big Green got things started with a seventh-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:23.87). The A relay, which was composed of
Brandon Liao, Tang-e Tan,
Luke Rohlen and
Henry Patrick, touched seven one-hundredths of a second ahead of Johns Hopkins.

Connor LaMastra won the 500-yard freestyle (4:24.31), finishing three seconds ahead of a Johns Hopkins swimmer in second place.
Joe Moll was 13th (4:32.19). In the 200-yard IM,
Connor Richmond placed 15th (1:52.43), while
Robert Purvis took 24th (1:53.79).

In the 50-yard freestyle,
John Hall and
Carter Jacobsen touched two one-hundredths of a second apart, taking 11th (21.00) and 12th (21.02), respectively.

To end the day, Dartmouth came in eighth place in the 400-yard medley relay (3:20.70). The team of Moll, Richmond, LaMastra and Hall finished over a second and a half ahead of Columbia.

Dartmouth will return to the water for prelims at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Finals will follow at 6 p.m.
