HANOVER, N.H. – The Dartmouth women's cross country team will look to punch its ticket to the final race of the season when it competes in the NCAA Northeast Regional Friday morning.
Â
The Big Green will run on the 6K course in Amherst, New York, on the Audubon Golf Course. The race is set to begin at 11 a.m. The University of Buffalo is the host.
Â
At last year's meet on this same course, Dartmouth finished second with 115 points en route to its Ivy League record 12th appearance in the NCAA Championship.
Â
The Green and White are ranked 27th in the national polls this week after taking the runner-up spot at Heps last weekend in Princeton. Other ranked teams at the meet are Columbia (20) and Syracuse (25), while the three-time defending regional champion Providence is not ranked currently, battling through an unexpected down season.
Â
At Heps, the Big Green continued their calling card of posting points thanks to bunches of players.
Glennis Murphy led the pack with a 12th-place finish in 21:08.02 to earn All-Ivy Second Team honors, but Dartmouth was pushed to second thanks to
Georgia Fear (17th, 21:13.1),
Olivia Lantz (18th, 21:14.8),
Julia Stevenson (19th, 21:16.0) and
Lauren Sapone (20th, 21.17.7) taking four-straight scoring spots soon thereafter to demonstrate the team's depth.
