HANOVER, N.H. –The Dartmouth men's soccer team was picked to finish first in 2018 by media members across the Ivy League in a poll released Wednesday afternoon. The Big Green have either won outright or shared the Ivy League title in each of the past four seasons and are coming off a 6-0-1 mark in conference play from a year ago.
Dartmouth received 123 points and 11 of the 16 first place-votes. Columbia took home the five remaining first-place votes coming away with 118 points. Rounding out the men's soccer poll is Brown (80), Princeton (75), Penn (52), Yale (51), Cornell (45), Harvard (36).
"It's always nice to be recognized by the media, but it's just a preseason poll, said
Bo Oshoniyi, the Bobby Clark head coach of soccer. "The guys know that it's going to take a lot of work and commitment from them, and from us as a staff to make sure that we finish there. That's our goal every year as a program."
The Big Green enter the season with ten seniors and six juniors, along with a group of ten sophomores who gained valuable experience last season, and a talented group of seven freshmen.
All Big Green soccer home games and Ivy League road games will be carried on ESPN+ this season.
