THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth volleyball will conclude tournament play this weekend by competing in two. On Friday, the Big Green will take on Seton Hall and Hofstra at the Hofstra Asics Invitational, and on Saturday, will face St. Francis (Brooklyn) and Fordham at the Battle of the Big Apple.
LAST TIME OUT
The Green finished in second place at last weekend's Dartmouth Invitational after taking down Siena (25-23, 25-16, 25-18) and Lafayette (25-16, 25-22, 25-17) and falling to eventual winner Boston College (19-25, 20-25, 20-25).
Francesca Meldrum and
Nicole Liddle were named all-tournament at the conclusion.
In addition, Meldrum was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week after being first on the team with a .388 hitting percentage, 24 kills (2.67/set), five service aces and 14 total blocks (1.56/set) for a total of 37.0 points. Liddle (18 kills, three aces, 21 digs, four total blocks, 23 points) and
Tola Akinwumi (13 kills, 12 total blocks, 20.5 points) were named to the honor roll.
In addition,
Annemarie Horn led the team with 51 assists and
Zoe Leonard was first with 38 digs.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
The Pirates enter the weekend with an overall record of 4-6 after going 2-1 at the Blue & White Classic, 1-2 at the Seton Hall Classic and 1-2 at the Thunderdome Classic. They most recently played a standalone match against Princeton, falling to the Tigers, 3-1.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA
The Pride have had a good start to their season and have an 8-3 mark. They have had a busy week, playing four matches over the course of five days, defeating Southern Utah and St. John's and falling to San Francisco and St. Mary's.
SCOUTING ST. FRANCIS
The Terriers have a record of 4-6 so far in 2018 and are most recently coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Henson Hawk Invitational at the University Maryland Eastern Shore, falling to the host and Hampton before taking down South Carolina State.
SCOUTING FORDHAM
The Rams are off to a 5-5 start this season after going 1-2 at the Jack Kaiser Classic, 1-2 at the Rose Hill Classic and 2-1 at the Rebel Challenge. Fordham had a mid-week home match against Manhattan, taking down the Jaspers by a score of 3-0.
