SATURDAY'S GAME
The Dartmouth field hockey team is home against Brown on Saturday for its 2018 Ivy League home opener. Game time is set for noon.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green dropped their 2018 Ivy League opener last Saturday at No. 5 Princeton, 3-0. The fifth-ranked Tigers scored once early and added a pair of late goals to win their seventh straight against Dartmouth dating back to 2012.
SCOUTING THE BEARS
•   Brown comes to Hanover 3-5 overall and 0-1 in Ivy play after falling at home to Columbia, 4-2, last weekend.
•   The Bears bounced back with a 4-2 win the following day against Georgetown.
•   Freshman Dani Van Rootselaar leads the team with nine points, while Gina Openshaw's four goals and Rachel Lanouette's four assists are most amongst the players on the roster.
•   In goal, Katie Hammaker is the anchor, playing in all but eight minutes of 565 this season. She boasts a .699 save percentage and 2.77 save percentage in that time.
AGAINST BROWN
•   Last season's meeting was an epic battle that needed seven rounds of a shootout for Dartmouth to come away with a 3-2 win.
•   Thanks to a pair of lightning delays, the two overtimes and the lengthy shootout, the game lasted three hours and 36 minutes.
•  Â
Sarah Tabeek '18 scored in the first and sixth rounds, respectively, while
Kira Koehler's goal in the top half of the seventh round proved to be the winner.
•   Then-junior goalkeeper
Hailey Valerio was spectacular, making six saves and several huge stops during the shootout including the sprawling save on Rachel Lanouette to preserve the victory.
FROM THE TOP
•   Despite a two-game stretch without a goal that followed a four-game goal streak, junior
Katie Spanos still leads the team with nine points.
CREEPING UP ON 150
•   Already the program's all-time winningest coach,
Amy Fowler is now just two wins away from 150 for her career, all at Dartmouth.
•   In her 19th season with the Big Green, Fowler came into the season with 145 career victories, a figure she has added three more to this season to put her just two shy of the milestone marker.
