NEW YORK, N.Y. – Bo Oshoniyi, the Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer and
Eduvie Ikoba were invited to the 2019 Major League Soccer Combine which takes place from Jan. 3-9 in Orlando, Fla.
For the third consecutive year, Oshoniyi will coach one of the four teams from a pool of over 60 draft-eligible seniors from NCAA D1 institutions.
"It's always an honor to be selected to coach the MLS Combine," said Oshoniyi. "It's a great opportunity to try and give some of the best players in the country a little wisdom of what it's like to be a professional player in the MLS. I'm grateful for the opportunity and look forward to working with the MLS!"
Oshoniyi is no stranger to the MLS or the combine. He spent the previous two years as an instructor at the combine while he was the head coach at Eastern Tennessee State University and served nearly a decade as a goalkeeper in the MLS, including a stint with the Kansas City Wizards from 2000-2006.
Ikoba will have the opportunity to showcase his talents in front of representatives from all 24 MLS clubs. All invited players will be eligible for selection in the 2019 SuperDraft which will take place at 9:00 a.m. PT on Friday, Jan. 11 in Chicago's McCormick Place.
"I'm extremely thankful for my team, our coaching staff and everyone else who's helped me throughout the past four years while at Dartmouth," said Ikoba. "I look forward to competing with some of the best players in the country, and hopefully showcasing my ability to MLS teams."
Ikoba capped off his Dartmouth career by becoming a two-time First-Team Ivy League selection, a two-time United Soccer Coaches All-Region selection and was chosen as an Ivy League Honorable Mention selection.
"I am really happy for Eduvie, he is very deserving of the invite," Oshoniyi continued. "He had a great career here at Dartmouth and I know that he will have a great combine. We are very proud to have Dartmouth men's soccer represented at the MLS Combine for the second straight year."
Ikoba follows Wyatt Omsberg, who attended the combine last year and was selected 15th overall by Minnesota United FC in the 2018 MLS draft.
