HANOVER, N.H. – Six members of the Dartmouth men's soccer team were selected to All-Ivy League teams as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
On the second team were seniors Henry Baldwin and Braden Salvati, junior Dawson McCartney and sophomore Alex Budnik. Senior Zach Kalk and sophomore Ohad Yahalom earned an honorable mention nod.
Baldwin picked up his second postseason award from the Ivy League and secured his first second team honor. The senior defender started in all 16 matches for the Big Green and was the leader of the back line. From Poulsbo, Washington, Baldwin had his best season offensively. He finished the year with two goals and one assist.
Salvati earned second team recognition from the conference, making it the second All-Ivy honor in his career. The senior started all 15 matches that he played and finished with one goal and two assists. From Del Mar, California, Salvati netted a key goal in a win against Michigan State (9/14) and had assists in victories at Penn (10/19) and at Harvard (11/2).
McCartney continues his streak of being named to an All-Conference team in each of his three seasons with the Big Green. This time he takes home a Second Team nod for the second consecutive season. Starting in all 12 games he played, the junior finished second on the team with three goals and 10 points and was tied for the lead with four assists. From Vorhees, New Jersey, McCartney's goals came against UMass (9/10), Niagara (9/21) and Albany (9/24).
In his first season as the full-time starting goalkeeper for the Big Green, Budnik was voted to the second team by the conference. The sophomore gave Dartmouth a chance to win in every match this season, finishing third in conference with four shutouts against UMass (9/10), Princeton (10/5), Penn (10/19) and Columbia (10/26). From Arlington Heights, Illinois, Budnik was second in the Ivy League with 63 saves and 3.94 saves per game.
A strong conclusion to the season earned Kalk an Honorable Mention honor, his first postseason award of his career.
