THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth men's lacrosse will play its last of three consecutive road games on Saturday when it travels to New York to face Wagner.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Bryant walked away with a 6-5 victory over Dartmouth on Saturday in a very low-scoring game that saw neither team net more than two goals in any given quarter.
Â
Jimmy Heidt led the team with three points from two goals and an assist, while five other players ended the contest with one point each.
Daniel Hincks played all 60 minutes for the second game in a row, making a season-high 15 saves.
Â
The home team got on the board first at 11:27 in the opening quarter, but that lead did not last too long, as
Ben Martin got one past goalie Kevin Beimfohr two minutes later to tie things up. Bryant pulled one ahead five minutes later, but
George Prince answered soon after (2-2).
Â
A single goal was netted in the second, one that gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 edge at 12:32. Shots on goal were even at 4-4 during those 15 minutes and the goalies made a combined seven saves to keep both teams at bay for the time being.
Â
Bryant made it a two-goal game early in the third, but Heidt's first and second goals of the year that were scored three minutes apart made for a tied game. Less than a minute later, the Bulldogs broke the tie and took their 5-4 advantage into the fourth quarter.
Â
Although Bryant extended its lead once again at 11:40,
Jack Richardson's first of the year pulled Dartmouth within one just 13 seconds later. The Green continued to fight, hitting the crossbar in the final second of play, but ran out of time to score the tying tally.
Â
SCOUTING THE SEAHAWKS
Wagner has had a 1-3 start to its season, and all four of its games have been decided by three or less goals. The Seahawks kicked off their campaign with a win over Bellarmine (7-6) but dropped the next three games to Manhattan College (11-10), Lafayette (13-10) and Monmouth (9-7).
Â
LAST TIME AGAINST WAGNER
Six straight goals in the second half lifted Dartmouth to a 9-8 victory over Wagner at home on March 3, 2018. This was the Big Green's first victory over the Seahawks since 2015.
Â
Martin led the team with four goals, while Prince,
Richie Loftus and
David Gallagher all had multi-point performances.
Â
BETWEEN THE PIPES
Hincks has played in all 120 minutes so far this season. He has made a total of 26 saves in his two games in net.
