Conor Burke Joins the Baseball Coaching Staff

The 2012 graduate of Queens College spent the past four years at Maine
HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth baseball head coach Bob Whalen announced the hiring of Conor Burke as an assistant coach for the Big Green this season. Burke will coach the hitters and outfielders while also serving as the recruiting coordinator.
Burke spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach for the Maine Black Bears in a similar capacity as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach, plus working with the outfielders one year and the infielders the last three. Among the players he worked with were shortstop Jeremy Pena, who was drafted by the Houston Astros in the third round of the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft, and catcher Chris Bec, a fifth-round selection of the Toronto Blue Jays that same year.
A 2012 graduate of Queens College (N.Y.) with a degree in media studies, Burke captained the Knights baseball team as a senior. He also captained Suffolk Community College to an appearance in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Word Series prior to enrolling at Queens.
Even before graduating, Burke signed on as an assistant coach and national recruiting coordinator for the Bayside Yankees, an elite traveling youth baseball team from around the New York City area. While handling those duties for three and a half years, he also spent time as an assistant coach at the collegiate level at his alma mater for the 2013 season, Concordia College in New York the following year and Adelphi University in 2015 before taking the job at Maine.
Note: Whalen's staff will be completed with Blake McFadden, promoted from the volunteer assistant to a full-time assistant for his second season with the Big Green, and Cameron Curler as the volunteer assistant.
