HANOVER, N.H. –
Justin Donawa '19 and
Eduvie Ikoba '19 have both signed contracts to play professional soccer in Europe.
"We are very proud of Eduvie and Justin," said
Bo Oshoniyi, the Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer. "We believe that a career at Dartmouth opens doors right to the top of any profession, whether it be soccer or any career field. Things like this are further proof of what our student-athletes can achieve after a career at Dartmouth."
Donawa, who ranks fifth on Dartmouth's career assists leader board, earned a spot on Darlington FC of the English National League North after impressing the club in preseason friendlies. "Justin has done well in the friendlies he's played," said Darlington manager Alun Armstrong. "He's got plenty of pace and can cause defenses problems. We would like to welcome Justin to the club and wish him all the best in his time here."
Ikoba, a three-time All-Ivy League selection, signed with ZTE Football Club which is in the Hungarian First Division. Ikoba sought out ZTE, earned a tryout and was offered a contract. Ikoba and his new team play on Saturday against Ferencvaros of the UEFA Champions League.
Both Ikoba and Donawa were major contributors to the Big Green's success over the last four seasons as Dartmouth captured the Ivy League title in 2015, '16 and '17, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in each of those seasons.
