PRINCETON, N.J. –
Zach Kalk was selected as the Ivy League player of the week for his performances in a 2-0 week for the Big Green with home wins over UMass and Michigan State. This is the first conference weekly award for Kalk.
From North York, Ontario, Kalk had an assist in the victory against UMass on Tuesday. In the 21st minute, he sent a perfect cross from the right side and found the head of
Dawson McCartney who sent home the lone goal of the game.
Kalk then put together some late-game heroics in the 78th minute against Michigan State, who was receiving votes in the top-25 poll.
Kota Sakurai got it started with the assist and Kalk did the rest by splitting two defenders and snuck the ball past the Spartan's keeper to give the Big Green their first win over a Power 5 team since 2014.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Alex Budnik was named to the honor roll after securing a shutout against UMass and a five-save win over Michigan State.
