THIS WEEKEND
Dartmouth women's hockey will be in New York for the second weekend in a row, this time to play Clarkson and St. Lawrence.
LAST TIME OUT
Playing on the road for the first time since early December, the Big Green fell to No. 4 Cornell (5-1) and Colgate (5-2).
- On Friday, Catherine Trevors netted her sixth goal of the season in the loss against the Big Red.
- Her tally was assisted on by Bailee Brekke and Lotti Odnoga. In net, Hannah Humphreys had 32 saves.
- The following day, after being scoreless at the end of the first period, a combined five goals were scored in the second, giving the Raiders a 4-1 advantage heading into the final period.
- CC Bowlby and Emily McLaughlin were credited with Dartmouth's goals, while Katerina Dajia assisted on the second marker. Humphreys had 12 saves in the first 28 minutes before making way for Kayla Wormsbecher, who had 12 stops in 31 minutes.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN KNIGHTS
Clarkson, with its 16-4-4 overall record, is coming off a 1-1-0 home-and-home versus St. Lawrence, winning the first meeting at home, 2-1, before falling by a score of 1-0 on the road the following day. With a conference mark of 7-3-2, the Golden Knights are tied for fourth in the ECAC Hockey standings with Yale.
Elizabeth Giguere leads the team in goals (23) and points (41) and is second in assists (18), one behind Gabrielle David. Giguere is tied for sixth in the country in points.
LAST TIME AGAINST CLARKSON
After falling by a score of 4-2 on the road on Jan. 26, Dartmouth rebounded less than three weeks later to take down the defending national champion, 3-2, in overtime on Feb. 15. A goal by
Chloe Puddifant with 9.4 seconds remaining in OT lifted the Big Green over the Golden Knights for the first time since Feb. 27, 2011.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
St. Lawrence heads into the weekend with an overall record of 9-9-5 and 4-5-2 in conference play. The Saints had a low-scoring series against the Golden Knights, rebounding from a one-goal loss on Friday to win by one goal the next day.
Kayla Vespa leads the team in all three categories (11-12-23).
LAST TIME AGAINST ST. LAWRENCE
The Big Green went 0-1-1 against the Saints in 2018-19. On Jan. 25, Dartmouth narrowly fell, 3-2, while on Feb. 16, the teams tied, 0-0 in overtime. This was the first time since 2016 that the Saints had not walked away with a win.
BETWEEN THE PIPES
For the second weekend in a row, both goalies saw playing time. Humphreys started both games, appearing in net for 88 minutes and making 44 saves, including an impressive 32 against Cornell. Wormsbecher played 32 minutes and had 12 saves.
LEADING THE WAY
Always a close race, it is now Bowlby who sits in the lead with 14 points (8-6-14), just one point ahead of
Gabby Billing (5-8-13).
