HANOVER, N.H. –
Belle Koclanes, the Gail Koziara Boudreaux '82 Head Coach of women's basketball announced the 2019-20 DWB postseason award winners at the team's annual banquet at the Hanover Inn on Sunday afternoon.
Senior
Annie McKenna was awarded the Gail Koziara '82 Most Valuable Player Award to cap off a successful career. From Elmwood Park, Illinois, McKenna put together her best season and led the Big Green in points (11.5), assists (4.3) and steals (1.5). She started all 27 games this season and led the Ivy League in minutes per game. McKenna ranks on the top-10 in program history in assists and top-15 in made 3-point field goals.
Sophomore guard
Katie Douglas received the "GO" Award, which is given to the Big Green player who consistently demonstrated a commitment to improving the growth opportunities of her game. From Mendham, New Jersey, Douglas proved to be a go-to scorer for the Big Green, putting up double-figure point totals in 11 games, including a season-high 19-point performance against Harvard.
The Larry Leavitt Leadership Award, which is given to the player or players who have shown hard work and dedication during the season was awarded the senior class of McKenna,
Paula Lenart,
Kealy Brown and
Grace Phillips. This group of seniors served as the leadership council throughout the 2019-20 season.
The Don Goss Spirit Award was awarded to freshmen
Kaiyah Corona and
Emma Koch. The award is given to the person who best embodies the spirit and determination that are a rich part of the Dartmouth women's basketball tradition. Despite both players suffering season-ending injuries in the preseason, Corona and Koch never let that shake their attitude.
