Dartmouthsports.com will be recognizing the senior student-athletes who had their spring seasons canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today's Senior … Blake Crossing, co-captain of the baseball team.
DartmouthSports.com: What is your most memorable on-field team moment?
Blake Crossing: Dustin Shirley's walk-off homerun in the first game of our series against Brown my sophomore year.
DS: And your most memorable on-field individual moment?
BC: Getting a hit against Umass Lowell during a blizzard at Red Rolfe. That game was the first (and only) snow delay I have ever experienced.
DS: Baseball players are known for nicknames. What is yours on the team and how did you get it?
BC: When I hit on the right side of the plate, the team calls me "Russell" (my first name) instead of Blake. I think
Cole O'Connor came up with that my freshman year when he realized "Righty Russell" had a nice ring to it.
DS: Any hidden talents you can share?
BC: I'm a pretty good dancer.
DS: If you could swap places with one teammate, who would it be and why?
BC: Any of the underclassmen, so I could play the game longer.
DS: What is your favorite place on campus?
BC: The Dartmouth baseball locker room. I love spending relaxation time with my teammates.
DS: What are your plans after Dartmouth (or the spring term in general)?
BC: I have a position as an operations coordinator for Success Academy, a charter school system in New York City.
