THIS WEEKEND
Having been on the road for the entirety of September, the women's rugby team will be back at Brophy Field this weekend for its first-ever meeting with Sacred Heart.
LAST TIME OUT
On Sept. 19, the Big Green handed Army West Point its first loss of the season in a very close game, 34-28.
- Lilly Durbin and Emily Henrich both scored two tries to lead the team with 10 points, while Abbey Savin had two good kicks for four points.
- Two tries by Durbin and one by Kristin Bitter gave Dartmouth a 19-0 edge heading to the half.
- Tries by Nicole Ihensekhien and Henrich put the Green up, 29-0, but three consecutive tries by the home team and the score was now much closer (29-21).
- Henrich added another to give Dartmouth some breathing room, but the Black Knights were back in the final minute with one more try of their own (34-28), but they ran out of time before they could take the lead.
LEADING THE WAY
After years of injuries and not being able to play since she was a freshman, fifth-year Durbin has returned to the field in a huge way. She is currently first on the team in tries (8) and points (40).
Following close behind is sophomore Savin in her first year of collegiate competition and has a team-leading 14 conversions and 31 points.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Previously Tier II, this is Sacred Heart's first season as a Division I program. The Pioneers have had a slow start to their season, falling to Quinnipiac (48-24), Brown (46-3) and Harvard (53-0).
