PRINCETON, N.J. – Dartmouth women's basketball was chosen to finish in seventh place in the Ivy League's preseason poll that was released on Monday.
Receiving 12 of the 16 possible first-place votes was reigning conference champion Princeton. Penn was picked second and received three first-place votes, while Columbia and Yale in third and fourth, respectively, were voted as likely to attend the Ivy League Women's Basketball Tournament.
In the last media poll that was released ahead of the 2019-20 season, the Big Green were slotted to tie for sixth with Columbia. Dartmouth did end up in sixth place (while the Lions were fourth), ending with an overall record of 10-17 and a 4-10 mark in Ivy action.
The 2022 Ivy League Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments will be held on Harvard's campus at Lavietes Pavilion from March 11-13. The men's and women's tournament champions will each earn automatic berths to the NCAA tournament.
Adrienne Shibles will officially begin her first year at the helm of the program on Nov. 9 when the Green host Rhode Island to kick off the 2021-22 season.
