Thriller Versus Cornell Next on “Big Green Classic”

Dartmouth had already won the first meeting between the two teams
HANOVER, N.H. — "Big Green Classic" — a series of Dartmouth events from the past two years that are being streamed once again on ESPN+ — returns on Friday night with the women's basketball game against Cornell that was originally played nearly one year ago on Feb. 28, 2020. The broadcast will be available on the Worldwide Leader in Sports' platform tomorrow at 7 p.m.
The Big Green's penultimate home game of the 2019-20 season would end up being a thriller. Dartmouth had won the first meeting between the two teams in Ithaca just two weeks prior by a 67-65 final. Junior Anna Luce had led five players in double figures with 16 points while senior Paula Lenart — who is currently playing for Romania in the FIBA EuroBasket Qualifying Tournament — just missed out on a double-double with nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds.
Cornell had revenge on its mind, however, when it traveled to Leede Arena in Hanover that night and was hoping to snap a seven-game skid. Dartmouth would need a way to slow down the Big Red's co-leading scorer, Laura Bagwell-Katalinich, who had posted 23 point in the first showdown. She and Samantha Widmann were averaging 13.4 points a game, while Dartmouth had just one player averaging in double figures, that being junior Anna Luce at 10.9 ppg.
This is the 11th of 13 games that will be streamed on the ESPN+ platform this winter. Each of the events are available for viewing for 30 days after it airs with a subscription to the service. The complete schedule of events is listed below.
