Men’s Soccer Set for Regular Season Finale at Harvard

HANOVER, N.H. — The Dartmouth men's soccer team travels to Cambridge, Massachusetts for its final contest of the 2022 season. The Big Green look to conclude the year with a two-match win streak as they take on the Harvard Crimson in Ivy League competition.

LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green last took the field against Brown at home on Saturday, November 5th. Dartmouth dominated its final match of the year at Burnham Field with a 3-0 win over the Bears.

Sam Fenton, Alex van Schalkwyk and Finn Callahan each found the back of the net as Dartmouth improved to .500 in conference competition.

Sophomore goalkeeper Costi Christodoulou recorded a three-save shutout, his fifth of the season.

KEY TO VICTORY: SCORE FIRST
Scoring first has been the key to success for the Big Green this season.

Dartmouth is 6-0-0 when scoring first so far in 2022. The Big Green hold wins over Niagara (1-0), Stonehill (6-0), Hartford (3-0), Yale (3-2), Columbia (1-0) and Brown (3-0), finding the back of the net first in each contest.

Five of Dartmouth's six wins this season have been clean sheets, including its most recent win over Brown. Goalkeeper Costi Christodoulou holds a .929 save percentage and a 0.33 goals against average in Dartmouth's wins.

LOOKING TO CLOSE OUT THE YEAR STRONG
The Big Green have improved throughout the latter half of the 2022 season. Dartmouth has won four of its last six matches, including a trio of Ivy League wins over Yale, Columbia and Brown.

Dartmouth's late season success has been seen exclusively at home, as the Big Green dropped matches at then-No. 10 Vermont and Cornell recently.

The Big Green look to secure just their second road win of the season this weekend. Dartmouth's lone road win of the year came on September 2 in its season opener against Niagara by a score of 1-0.

SCOUTING HARVARD
Harvard enters Saturday's match with a record of 8-4-4 and a 2-1-3 mark in Ivy League competition. The Crimson hold a strong 6-1-1 record at home, including a win over then-No. 15 Penn on October 29.

The Crimson are undefeated in their last seven matches, with four wins over that span. Harvard's last defeat came at the hands of Cornell on October 1 on the road.

Last weekend, Harvard battled Princeton in a road contest. The Crimson overcame a two-goal deficit in the second half to escape New Jersey with a 2-2 draw.

Sophomore forward Alessandro Arlotti leads Harvard with 16 points in 16 matches. He has scored four goals and has recorded eight assists in his second season with Harvard.

Oskar Nilsson has made 13 starts for Harvard in goal and holds a goals against average of 1.49. He enters Saturday with a record of 5-3-4 and two shutouts.

LAST TIME AGAINST THE CRIMSON
Last season, Harvard snapped a three-match skid to the Big Green with a 1-0 win in Cambridge. The lone goal of the game came in the first minute.

Christodoulou made a pair of saves in the loss, as the Big Green fell to 2-10-1 on the season.

Dartmouth outshot Harvard 16-14 and registered five shots on goal throughout the match.

ALL-TIME AGAINST HARVARD
Harvard holds a 45-40-10 advantage on Dartmouth in the all-time series. The Crimson have won 34 of 58 matches played in Cambridge.

Dartmouth has gone 5-3-2 against Harvard in the last 10 meetings between the teams and has won three of the last four matchups.

Bobby Clark Head Coach of Men's Soccer Bo Oshoniyi holds a record of 2-1-0 against Harvard since the start of his tenure with Dartmouth in 2018.
