TUESDAY AFTERNOON HOOPS
The Big Green return home looking to snap a three-game losing streak after competitive losses to Holy Cross and Vermont at Leede Arena following a Thanksgiving break, and most recently a comeback fallen short at Siena.
LAST TIME OUT
Dartmouth fell, 75-67, to Siena in Loudonville, New York on Saturday. After trailing by 14 at halftime as Siena caught fire from the opening tip and shot 8-of-12 from beyond the arc, the Big Green eventually cut the lead to one in the fourth quarter. Siena responded with a run of its own and though Dartmouth briefly regained momentum with
Grace Niekelski's 3-point play to get back within two, 62-60, Siena was able to seal the win.
FOUR IN DOUBLE FIGURES
Victoria Page and
Mia Curtis led a balanced offense against Siena with 15 points apiece.
Mekkena Boyd followed with 15 and
Grace Niekelski added 11. It was the second time this season Dartmouth has featured four scorers in double figures - a feat that was only accomplished once last season.
LIGHTS OUT AT LEEDE
Dartmouth lost a heartbreaker to Vermont, 67-66, in its last game at Leede Arena despite going 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) from downtown. After that performance, the Big Green are one of 12 teams across the nation to post a 3-point percentage (minimum of 10 attempts) better than 60 percent in a game.
Victoria Page, who netted a career-high 23 points, was the star for Dartmouth in that Thursday night nailbiter. The sophomore dropped 19 in the first half and ended both the first and second quarters with deep 3-pointers at the buzzer. She finished the game 5-of-7 from deep. Dartmouth is one of only two teams in the country this season to shoot better than 60 percent in a losing effort (Boston University shot 64.7 percent, 11-of-17, in its loss to Boston College).
SCOUTING ALBANY
The Great Danes are off to a 4-5 start following a successful 2021-22 season that saw them capture the America East Championship and appear in the NCAA Tournament, where they fell to No. 1 seed Louisville. Fifth-year guard Ellen Hahne, who joined the team after two seasons at Wake Forest, leads the team with 14.0 points per game. Albany ranks 22nd in the country in 3-point defense, allowing opponents to shoot just 23.6 percent from downtown.

ALL-TIME VERSUS ALBANY
Tuesday's game serves as the rubber match in the seven-game all-time series between the Big Green and the Great Danes. The series currently stands at 3-3 with Albany winning three of the last four. Dartmouth's most recent win came Dec. 29, 2016 at home, 69-61, in overtime as Kate Letkewicz scored a game-high 19. The first meeting of the non-conference foes took place in 2000.
WHAT'S AHEAD
Following Tuesday's game, Dartmouth heads to New Jersey for Saturday's battle with Monmouth. After that, the Big Green are back home to face Drexel on Tuesday, Dec. 13, which marks the program's annual Education Day as more than 1,000 local elementary students will fill Leede Arena.
