ITHACA, N.Y. – Dartmouth men's tennis was narrowly edged by Yale, 4-3, in its second match of the ECAC Indoor Championship on Saturday. The Big Green are now 3-3, while the Lions are 5-3.

Pierce Widdecombe and
Alex Knox-Jones started things off with their 6-3 win at the No. 2 doubles. A 6-4 win by the Bulldogs on court one left it up to play on court three. It was a mighty close one, but
Andy Ilie and
Daniel Webb narrowly fell, 7-6(9-7).

Yale victories on courts six and two suddenly gave the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. A 6-3, 6-4 win by Widdecombe at the No. 5 position got Dartmouth on the board, while
Dominik Pauli and Knox-Jones soon made it a 3-3 match. On court one,
Carlos Guerrero Alvarez dropped his first set, 6-4, before winning the second by the same score. In the third set, he narrowly fell, 6-4, giving the win to Yale.

The Green will end the championship on Sunday with an 8 a.m. match against Brown.
